Hyderabad: A brilliant unbeaten 94 off just 41 balls by skipper Virender Seh-wag helped Delhi Daredevils crush hosts Deccan Chargers by nine wickets in the seventh match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) Twenty20 tournament at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium here yesterday.
The Daredevils reached the target of 143 in 13 overs, losing Gautam Gambhir (12). Shikhar Dhawan was the other not out batsman for Delhi Daredevils with 25.
Earlier, Rohit Sharma's 66 propelled Hyderabad Deccan Chargers to 142 for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
Barring Sharma, none of the other Deccan Chargers batsmen managed to make an impact. Pakistan's Shahid Afridi failed to shine for the Deccan Chargers in his first match as he was dismissed for 2.
Fraveez Maharoof, Rajat Bhatia and Mohammad Asif picked up two wickets each for the Delhi side.
